Photographs by Sharon Freed
September 25 through February 24, 2014
Opening reception: September 25th, 6:00-8:00 PM
This images in this exhibition were taken during an Earth Day clean-up, during which Freed found herself imagining how important these now-discarded objects once were to their owners. The objects depicted were, as she puts it, “a large part of every-day life,” and the photographs provoke curiosity about their origins and how they came to be abandoned. They fit into Freed’s overall project of “exposing what seems commonplace and making it extraordinary.”
